Deburring and surface finishing specialist Ellesco is to host an Open House event at its Christchurch, Dorset headquarters on the 2 March.
The company will highlight the Timesavers range of abrasive belt, rotary brush and rotary disc finishing machines, with live demonstrations allowing visitors to witness the machines' capabilities at first hand. In addition, a team of technical engineers will be on-hand to discuss specific finishing solutions.
Four Timesaver machines will be on show - the 42WRB Series, 22WB and 22W Series, plus the Timesavers 12 Series. Alongside these, Ellesco will additionally highlight its stock of refurbished surface finishing and deburring machines.
The centrepiece of the event will be the Timesavers 42WRB, described as ideal for the deburring and edge rounding of laser, flame, plasma and water-jet cut parts, as well as the finishing of punched and machined parts. In a single pass, the machine can undertake pre-grinding to remove heavy burrs and the final surface finishing, says Ellesco.
The 42WRB has a vacuum conveyor that can accommodate parts from 50 to 1,350 mm in width, with the machine making short work of burrs via its rotary brush carousel head that incorporates eight rotating brushes. The unit also employs a wide belt abrasive head, which is the first contact point for parts on the component conveyor. This hard contact roller is primarily used for removing heavy burrs on plasma, laser and punched parts immediately after cutting. For customers aiming to achieve a specified level of surface finish or grain, the 42WRB can be fitted with a secondary abrasive head for finishing.
The rotary brush system has its own rotating axis, with four brushes working in a clockwise direction and another four operating counter-clockwise. The abrasive strands flick across the entire surface and all edges of a part, providing an even radius on all corners.
For manufacturers requiring a more compact solution, there's the Timesavers 22WB Series for the deburring and finishing of sheet metal parts, which has a 900 mm width capacity, while the Timesavers 12 Series of wet and dry working machines produce smooth-edged deburring and finishing of flat metal components and is able to process parts having a width of 600 mm and a thickness of 125 mm.
