Laser expert Electrox is offering free on-site demonstrations to showcase its technology's enhanced capabilities, which take in more than just marking.

Deep engraving, micro-machining, scribing, drilling and trimming are just some of the new applications, enabling new markets to benefit from the traditional virtues of Electrox laser technology: durability, permanence and low-cost ownership, says the company. Advances in fibre optic technology have meant that, as well as laser marking, the new generation laser can now be customised to give Electrox customers access to a wider variety of industrial applications, alongside significantly higher performance requirements. Electrox believes that manufacturers of intricate and precise equipment, from medical devices to photovoltaic cells and other precision engineered components, can benefit from the new generation of its Scorpion Rapide. For example, using the laserformicro-machining eliminates the need for cutting tools. This means that customers can benefit from a lower long-term cost of ownership, without the worry of a number of consumables, better durability and high precision. At the same time, customers will continue to benefit from the Scorpion Rapide's standard range of user-friendly feature accessories to assist performance. These include a vision camera and focus finder for precision marking, a rotary axis for working with cylindrical components, a code reader, an X-Y table for large objects, focus finder and integrated extraction of dust and debris. Peter Ramsden, sales director at Electrox, explains: "Advances to our already highly successful Scorpion Rapidelaser mean that we can work in partnership with our customers from the very beginning, in order to give them their very own tailored laser designed to meet their business needs. "With our years of expertise, we constantly aim to develop our products to provide the best service to our customers. "Our aim is to broaden our customer base to those companies that will benefit from the use of lasers for a range of applications, including the drilling of thin materials, ablation, cleaning and trimming."
