Delcam and CNC Robotics will show how easy its PowerMillRobot CAM system is to use at MACH 2014.
While robots are becoming more popular in machining tasks, the software used to program and control them hasn't developed as quickly.
Delcam will win operators over with the fact that PowerMill Robot makes it as easy to program a robot as it is to program a 5-axis machine tool. The photo here shows a robot cutting away at polysterene - and it is under control by the PowerMillRobot software.
The software simulates complete machining operations and shows the robot's working envelope, so operators can optimise the position of the job.
The software also points out any issues that may prevent toolpaths from being completed, while graph displays are used to show the operator how the robot will move. The acceleration and deceleration of the robot's axes are shown on time-based graphs too.
Once the simulation has been approved, PowerMillRobot then comes up with the appropriate robot native language needed for your machine, for example for Kuka, ABB, Fanuc, Yaskawa Motoman or Stäubli machines. This eliminates any need for third-party translation software.
PowerMillRobot will be on show in Hall 4 on Stand 4011.
