Orders were placed for 21 machines worth more than £1.3 million by some of the 350 customers that attended the opening of C Dugard's new Hove showroom during November.

“This was an excellent response by customers," said Eric Dugard. "As a result, we are closing 2007 and running into 2008 with a record order book worth over £7 million and still have a further 55 enquires from the four-day event that our sales and applications team are quoting against.” The new showroom displayed a selection of its ever growing range of Dugard Eagle lathes and machining centres including the launch of the MH 500, the first horizontal machining centre, from the company that sports a Fanuc control, 40 tool magazine and twin pallets for under £100,000. The first showing in the UK of the Dugard Eagle X-5 drew a lot of attention too. This fourth/fifth axis vertical machining centre was viewed as an ideal solution for combined operation machining at a very competitive price. Also under demonstration was the latest high specification Hyundai Kia SKT 200 TTSY multi-function mill/turn centre with twin turrets, twin spindles and Y-axis crossfeeds that provides a ‘one-hit’ operational scenario with high levels of rigidity.
