The relationship between Red Bull Racing Honda and DMG Mori has been in place since 2004, with the machine tool supplier becoming an Innovation Partner in 2012.
There are currently more than 20 DMG Mori machines, predominantly 5-axis machining centres, at the Formula One team's manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes.
Another large 5-axis machine, a DMU 210P with 2,100 x 2,100 x 1,250 mm axis travels, is due for delivery later this year.
Performance at the highest level in every discipline is key to success in motorsport, precision, flexibility and technological excellence being essential.
With Red Bull Racing Honda's manufacturing plant working close to 24/7 and dealing with an extensive range of materials and exacting delivery times, the requirement for robust and reliable machine tools is paramount.
The 5-axis machines provided by DMG Mori play an important role in the efficient and accurate machining necessary to meet the high demands of F1.
As part of the Innovation Partnership, DMG Mori also provides after sales service and technical support, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and minimum downtime to deliver high performance, technically advanced machining and continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.
Christian Horner, team principal and CEO at Red Bull Racing Honda said: "We are delighted to extend our Innovation Partnership with DMG MORI. The machines and services it supplies are an integral part of our success on track and we look forward to continuing to build our relationship in the years to come."
Steve Finn, managing director of DMG Mori UK added: “We are extremely proud to have extended the Innovation Partnership with Red Bull Racing Honda for several more years. Working alongside a very fast-moving industry gives us a great opportunity to hone our skill sets and provide true innovation to the team”.
