High-performance indexable carbide milling tools, workholding, and positioning equipment manufacturer Dapra has 1,600 indexable tools for milling available on MachiningCloud, with CAD data on most items also accessible to Dapra customers.

The partnership utilises the convenience of cloud-based technology, which enables customers to optimise the way they gather information for their manufacturing operations by searching for the proper cutting tool that best fits their cutting conditions.

Furthermore, MachiningCloud says that Dapra customers will be able to increase productivity and achieve greater accuracy by easily downloading descriptive, usage and geometric information directly into their shop floor software, such as CAM, simulation, and tool management systems.

Explains MachiningCloud product manager Jessy Prevost: “The ability to feed Dapra’s product data directly into customers’ shop software offers tremendous time-saving benefits over paper catalogs and websites. MachiningCloud eliminates the need to manually type information into the end user’s software.”

Adds Michael Bitner, VP of sales and product management for Dapra Corporation :“The partnership with MachiningCloud is an effort towards the increased effectiveness of programming/processing methods through digital integration of Dapra cutting tool CAD data, along with other important application information, into the available tooling library.

“Instant access to manufacturer-provided cutting tool dimensional data provides a significant shortcut to the finished program, as well as a reduced opportunity for errors that can result in the manual tool-building process.”
