600 UK's Czech Republic dustributor, Consorta Praha s.r.o., paid a visit to the Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire firm at the end of November, bringing several customers to view the new manufacturing facility and to see 600 UK's range of machine tools and workholding solutions being built for themselves.
600 UK's customers saw working demonstrations from Colchester and Harrison's conventional centre lathes, Alpha X series combination CNC lathes and the new Tornado T2M CNC compact 3-axis turning centre, the later having been designed to handle even smaller complex parts with an even more robust manufacturing platform than its predecessor, ensuring greater accuracy and reliability than ever before, says 600 UK.
Over the two-day visit, visitors saw the new Gripfast combination power chuck demonstrated for the first time. It is currently used, as standard, on Colchester Tornado CNC production turning centres, offering high speed, high accuracy turning, with rapid component changeover.
Zdenek Bubnik, managing director of Consorta Praha, said: "We put a great deal of effort into organising the UK visit and for our end users to see some excellent quality lathes being built and also the chuck manufacturing cell in full production in an excellent facility was fantastic. The number of sold tornados being produced is very positive and our end users will have to be quick in sending their orders."
600 UK sales director Howard Bamforth said: "This was a superb opportunity to showcase our refurbished facilities to existing and prospective customers. Our customers always enjoy watching machines being built and chucks being assembled, particularly their own machines. It is always good for end users to see our skilled workforce in action."
