German machine tool and laser specialist Trumpf Group has seen sales grow 10 per cent in its last financial year to the end of June.

Sales were approximately €2.14 billion or $3.15 billion, according to preliminary figures. Orders received rose by 5 per cent compared to last year and are at the same level as sales. Trumpf president Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller said the year was good overall. “We are also very confident about the 12 months that lie ahead. As things stand now, we are forecasting sales growth in the middle, single digit percentage range,” she added. Growth for Trumpf exists in diverse areas: it is active in more than 50 countries and offers a broad product portfolio. Last year saw the Group exceed the 8,000 employee mark for the first time in its history. About 700 jobs were added worldwide, 270 alone in Germany. In another landmark achievement, Trumpf this year became the first German machine tool manufacturer to operate a production facility in Japan.
