CNC gear cutting added to 2D CNC’s portfolio

2D CNC Machinery has added S&T Dynamics' range of gear cutting machinery and related automation equipment to its portfolio of metal cutting CNC machining centres, cell and system technology.

S&T Dynamics is a manufacturer of automotive and military powertrain, axles and transmissions that include gearboxes for helicopters, wind-power applications, dual-clutch transmissions and hybrid power trains. It also supplies both civil and military aerospace, medical and general sectors.

As the company is a precision gear manufacturer it has developed and builds its own gear cutting machine tools - a sub-division of its larger global CNC machine tool build operations. Machines can be supplied as complete turn-key packages, including production of crowned gears, tapered gears, skiving and deburring. In addition, associated automation can include ring loaders, stockers, conveyors and robotic loading.

Gear cutting machines include hobbing, shaping and shaving processes plus a range of gear chamfering and deburring equipment. Initially, 2D CNC will be marketing and supporting the high speed hobbing machine range.

Explains director David Holden: “The S&T Dynamics agency is an important addition to 2D CNC’s portfolio of high quality and specialist CNC process equipment, and like the existing product ranges we represent, has very strong links to leading manufacturing enterprises around the world.”
