Citizen Open House celebrates 40 years in the UK

To celebrate 40 years of combined British sales of Citizen CNC sliding-head and Miyano fixed-head turning centres, Citizen Machinery UK is offering supper special deals for any current machine ordered during its Open Day event, to be staged at the Bushey, Watford headquarters and showroom between 7 and 10 October 2014.

The number 40 looms large in other ways - total sales and forward orders have already hit £40 million for Citizen and Miyano product lines this year and, with recent appointments that contribute to increased service and customer support, the company has extended its head count for the UK operation to 40 people. And the Citizen Machinery Miyano Co based in Japan will also be celebrating this year, with the delivery of its 100,000th machine (Citizen shipped its first D16 NC sliding-head in February 1971 and Miyano its CNC-7BC in 1978). At the Open House, seven Citizens and five Miyano machines will be set and running, including the 'Award' winning and 'world's first' three-spindle flexible Citizen MC20 turning cell, which is being shown with a fully integrated Mitsubishi robot to aid unattended load/unload sequences. Also in the Citizen line-up will be the latest L12-VII, L20-XII, M16-VIII, M32-VIII, A20-VII and B16E-VI machines. And from the Miyano fixed- head stable, two BNA's a 42DHY and GTY, a BNE-51MSY, BNJ-51SY5 and an LZ-DZ RY2 will be demonstrating a variety of machining cycles. The event opens between 09:00 and 17:00 each day, with an extended 'Curry Evening' on Tuesday, 7 October.
