Citizen Machinery UK's Open House from 8-10 October 2013 will give visitors the first opportunity to see four new machines launched into the UK market.

Significant for the UK fixed-head machine users is the UK launch of the 42 mm bar capacity Miyano BNA-42GTY turning centre, which incorporates a combination of Citizen's Cincom and Miyano design, utilising a moving head-stock and Citizen's highly developed Cincom control software. The new software helps reduce non-cutting times by up to 27% and supports overlap operations involving up to 45 tools in the standard specification, as well as maintaining three-tool simultaneous machining techniques. The machine has the added flexibility of independent Y axes on the 8-station turret and vertical gang tool slide. From the Citizen stable, the fourth generation of the top-of-the-range M-Series is being shown for the first time in a 16 mm capacity version. The M16-Type Vlll will not only demonstrate a faster cycling capability, but also adds new levels of versatility from additional axes and tool positions plus the incorporation of higher speed arithmetic processing and further software developments. And the totally new Citizen L12 serves the need to produce short or longer workpieces on the same machine by either fitting or removing the guide bush assembly via a quick and simple setting action. The machine offers class-leading 35m/min rapid traverse, applying up to 27 tools to the high speed 15,000 rpm main and 10,000 rpm back spindle. With the launch of the new generation L20-Xll, Citizen is able to present up to 39 tools, adding the versatility of a B-axis in addition to a Y-axis and the ability to interpolate different axes during the machining cycle. Altogether, 10 machines will be demonstrating different aspects of turn-milling technology throughout the Open House, which will be open from 08:30 to 17:00 pm each day. There is also a very popular Curry Evening, which tends to be well attended by customers, from 6 pm on Wednesday, 9 October. Throughout the Open House, there will be supporting complementary technology on view, taking in tooling, material and a range of ancillary products.
