Carillon Industrial Services (CIS) is partnering with WinTool, a specialist in digital factories. WinTool says it provides the “glue” for the Internet of Things (IoT), where data connectivity and reuse is essential.

According to WinTool, the company delivers on multiple fronts, not least in regard to its production resources and tools library. The engineering tool database is the source for complete transparency, foreseeable production resource allocation, and reliable and efficient machine tool preparation, it is claimed.

WinTool’s CNC tools library is included in the WinTool base package and can be extended with interfaces for CAM and pre-setting gauges. WinTool can directly import tool manufacturer catalogues according to industry standards.

Among the benefits for users, WinTool can enable lean planning, programming and machine set-ups in what the company describes as “huge time savings”. Further advantages include the elimination of assumptions, gaps, and errors between planners, programmers and operators, as well as structured, automated and retraceable data flow in production.

The parametric tool library offers graphics generators and fast tool manufacturer data input. According to WinTool, it is possible for users to create detailed tool set-up instructions in seconds with current storage location and availability. The open architecture database (SQL server) has interfaces for ERP, PDM, MES, CAM, DNC, pre-setting gauges and storage systems.
