Citizen’s Cincom L12-Vll CNC sliding-head turn-mill centre has become the best-selling model in the Cincom range in Europe.

The Citizen Cincom L12 Type Vll is a high speed production machine incorporating the ability to be changed-over within 30 minutes from guide bush function for long slender work up to 12 mm diameter by 135 mm in a single chucking, into a non-guide bush configuration. This enables more economic use of bar material due to the shorter remnant requirement.

Now built in modules, the L-Series footprint is only 1,760 mm by 820 mm and offers a wide-access, lift-up door to the cutting zone. The five-axis machine has a 3.7 kW main and 0.75 kW sub-spindle with the capability to carry up to 27 tools.

Significant features of the new Cincom machine include the ability to effectively utilise the latest tooling developments to produce smaller parts with the advantage of a 15,000 rpm main spindle (Z1) and 10,000 rpm available for both the sub-spindle (X2, Z2) and driven tools, which are mounted on the (X1, Y1) gang toolpost.

The X1-Y1 vertical gang toolpost plays a significant role in the flexibility of toolholding and their presentation for efficient cutting sequences and combined operations. An up to 30° adjustable angle end-face drilling unit adds to the machine’s flexibility, as it is able to carry up to three double-ended front- and back-driven tool spindles powered by a 0.75 kW 10,000 rpm motor. Up to six tools can be utilised for turning plus up to a total of nine driven tool positions can be available.

Meanwhile, the back toolpost will hold four tools, plus, as an option, a slitting spindle milling cutter up to 30 mm diameter for back machining. This is powered by a 0.5 kW, 9,000 rpm drive. Deep hole drilling operations can also be carried out from the opposite toolpost.

Once a component is completed in the sub-spindle, the part is discharged via an integrated workpiece exit conveyor.
