Established in 1992 by current managing director Michael O’Hare as a supplier of small machines for the hobby market, Chester Machine Tools has since grown to become a provider of conventional and CNC milling and drilling machines, vertical machining centres, lathes and turning centres, horizontal and vertical boring machines, surface and bench grinders and sawing equipment.

Operating from its expanded Hawarden, Chester head office, the company also has a factory and new showroom in Burntwood, Staffordshire. It employs nearly 30 staff and has developed an extensive network of customers serving education, manufacturing and industry, mining and oil and gas sectors globally.

O’Hare comments: “The past 25 years’ growth and success has been built on the expertise and support of our suppliers, customers and staff. We look forward to serving our customers in the UK and overseas markets over the next quarter of a century with a growing portfolio of high quality, cost-effective machinery.”

As well as its own range of Chester machine tools, the ISO9001 accredited company has also grown through the acquisition in recent years of the agencies for Kitchen & Walker drilling machines; Scot Urquhart bandsaws, lathes and turret milling machines; and Uniprize lathes, milling machines, turret mills, drilling machines and shaping machines.
