CGTech to use the ‘Force’ at Autosport

1 min read

CGTech will be powering into Autosport Engineering 2019 – which takes place on 10-11 January at the Birmingham NEC – with its physics-based feed-rate optimisation module, Vericut Force. The latest Force module, Force Turning, features in version 8.2 of CGTech’s Vericut CNC machine tool simulation, verification and optimisation software.

Vericut Force analyses and optimises cutting conditions to achieve ideal chip thicknesses, while managing the cutting forces and spindle power required. As the name suggests, Force Turning is designed to optimise turning, along with mill-turn operations when combined with Force Milling. Force Turning is said to simplify the creation of NC programs for the optimal cutting of inside/outside diameters, shoulders, as well as in corners and tight spaces – without the worry of encountering excessive cutting forces or high spindle power demands.

Force provides NC programmers with detailed information about the cutting process that they never had before, reports CGTech. As a result, NC programmers can quickly and easily identify problems and unsafe cutting conditions lurking in their toolpaths. With a single click, users can review problem-causing cuts, which if left uncorrected, could cause chatter, break the tool and damage the part or machine. Force optimisation automatically corrects issues such as excessive cutting forces, metal removal rates, power, torque and tool deflection, while simultaneously correcting under-utilised cutting conditions by raising them to optimal performance levels.

CGTech also offers additive manufacturing capabilities, as well as Vericut Composites applications for the programming and simulation of automated fibre-placement and tape-laying machines. Visitors to Autosport Engineering can see the entire Vericut suite on stand E111.
