Centreless grinding support service unveiled

The Centreless Tooling Group has unveiled a centreless grinding support service.

"We can offer support for companies looking to increase production capacity for a short period or even provide manufacturing cover during factory shutdowns," explained joint managing director Mark Craddock. "It is also possible for customers to lease a machine while awaiting the delivery of new equipment. "Some engineering companies may have a requirement for centreless grinding but at volumes that do not warrant investing in a machine. For these customers we can take on the work as a sub-contract service. Then, if the volume increases to a level that makes a machine purchase viable, we will pass on all of the settings and technology with a re-engineered machine that is ideally suited to the manufacturing process." Two engineers will be involved with the so-called research and development facility to provide full time cover for machine trials and turnkey projects, with additional specialist knowledge and guidance from the company's technical support manager. The facility resides within the company's 60,000 sq ft Grinding Technology Centre in Tamworth, within a brand new 5000 sq ft area. Having a wide choice of machines available provides a number of key benefits for engineering companies, and makes the correct machine choice that much easier, says the company. Along with the choice of machines available, are the many years of experience and in-depth knowledge of the staff at Centreless Tooling, it is highlighted. These can prove invaluable in assisting customers with the choice of correct centreless grinding solution. To aid this, the research and development facility can accommodate machine and tool trials, process capability studies and low volume prototype work. Mark Craddock concludes: "For companies that are new to centreless grinding Centreless Tooling is the ideal partner. We can provide tooling, prove-out trials, low volume production and supply re-engineered centreless grinding machines. For engineering businesses already using centreless grinding technology we offer cover for additional production volume requirements and prototype process trials, as well as shutdown and machine breakdown cover."
