Bott has been chosen as the workshop and storage equipment supplier for new Automotive design company Gordon Murray Design, Guildford

. Chief executive and technical director Gordon Murray has 40 years in the automotive industry and has been responsible for Brabham and McLaren racing cars as well as the iconic McLaren F1 road car. The new firm will provide innovative design solutions for the cars of the future with the company is already working on a lightweight, environmentally friendly and economical car, T25, aimed at first-time buyers, city dwellers, commuters, hire car fleets and second-car buyers. The workshop equipment installed by Bott, will be used to store the essential tools used in the production of a prototype car, as well as providing a clean and ergonomic workplace. Mr Murray aims to create a car as cool as the original Mini, Fiat Cinquecento and Smart FourTwo, undercutting its opposition in price and running costs, yet being as safe to drive as a conventional small hatchback. The T25 will make its fuel savings not through a hybrid or electric powertrain, but by its very low weight - around 400 kg less than similarly sized conventional vehicles. The first prototype T25 cars will be running within two years and the design will be sold or licensed to a major manufacturer to be built in large volumes.
