'Bundles’ deals from ETG bring value and rapid delivery

The Engineering Technology Group (ETG) has overhauled the way that it offers ranges of its most popular ‘ex-stock’ machine tools in order that the customer benefits from very competitive pricing, rapid delivery and the ability to specify options from standard ‘bundles’ menus.

Midlands business development manager Jon Mannion explains that its new ‘Ready-to-Run CNC’ approach ensures that the day-to-day demands from the marketplace are met by ETG in a highly responsive manner.

He says: “We supply machine tools across the spectrum from high end turnkey solutions to supplying SME’s and sub-contractors who are looking for a good deal, an optimum machine capability and ex-stock delivery.

“Many Hardinge Bridgeport, Quaser and some Nakamura-Tome machines are in the latter category and with our resources, we can usually supply machines from stock, installed and operational within 14 days.

“Bundles options are pre-fitted and fully tested by ETG engineers with no compromises – machines are all brand new, PDI’d, delivered and installed and there is an operator training package included.”

Although it is an evolving process, machines included in the ‘bundle’ scheme are the Hardinge Bridgeport XR760 VMC, the Nakumura Tome AS 200L range and Quaser horizontal and vertical machining centres.

Options that bundles can include are a range of high value accessories from linear scales to spindle measuring equipment and even upgrades to spindle specifications and software packages.

Adds Mannion: “Based on feedback from the marketplace we have carefully tailored the bundles to carefully reflect the machine and the types of environment they typically operate in. Also, from the start point, these are machines not lacking in features.

“On the Hardinge the standard specification includes a 12,000rpm Weiss spindle, 30 ATC capability, through spindle cooling and the latest Heidenhain control. The Nakamura machines – famed for their build quality – have the integral Y axis, a 15-station tool turret for milling and live tooling. So with the addition of the chosen options bundle, you get a lot of machine.”
