West Midlands precision pressworker Brandauer has placed a £750,000 order with press supplier Bruderer UK, the largest the company has ever received in its 43-year history.

Brandauer is to install two of the Switzerland-manufactured machines, a BSTA 510-125B2 and a BSTA 280-88B2, with these expected to be installed next April. The two precision high speed stamping machines will help Brandauer increase capacity, improve accuracy and also help it open up new markets. Once up and running, they will produce 2 billion parts every year – worth up to £2.5 million in potential new sales for the firm. "2011 has started well and we're winning new business in both existing and new markets, including exciting orders for complex and larger components for the medical and renewable sectors respectively," said David Spears, managing director at Brandauer. "Turnover has rocketed to over £9 million and we have reached a stage where we require additional capability in order to meet anticipated client demand. "Both of the presses feature the ground-breaking Bruderer B2 control technology and are fitted with high speed precision servo feed for greater flexibility. The BSTA280-75B2 is also able to offer up to 2,000 strokes per minute, which is 100% higher than anything we currently have."
