Best ever half-year for Delcam

CADCAM developer Delcam has achieved its best ever half-year sales in the first six months of 2006.

Sales for the six months to 30 June were £13.5 million, up 14 per cent on the £11.8 million achieved in the first six months of last year. Pre-tax interim profit was £1.2 million; an increase of 11 per cent over that achieved in the first half of 2005. The increase in both sales and profits came partly from the addition of the FeatureCAM family of software to the Delcam range and partly through increased sales of Delcam’s established Power Solution range of software. The most successful product, in growth terms, was inspection program PowerINSPECT (pictured). This saw an increase in sales of more than 80 per cent compared to the first six months of 2005. Increases have also been seen for Delcam’s four other key products, the design software PowerSHAPE, the PowerMILL and FeatureCAM CAM systems, and the artistic CADCAM program, ArtCAM. Expenditure on R&D grew from £3.1 million in the first half of 2005 to £3.7 million in the opening six months of 2006.
