Alloy Wire International (AWI) is set to explore new opportunities in oil and gas when it showcases its 62-strong range of exotic alloys in Dusseldorf (Hall 1 Stand C1) on December 3rd-5th, 2024.
The recent installation of new machinery - ideal for producing the heat and corrosion resistant wire demanded by customers - will give it extra capacity and ensure that it can continue to meet three-week lead times that are proving so popular, the company said.
It will be the seventh time AWI has attended the show and this time the company will be sending an international delegation with representatives from its UK HQ being joined by Michael Sonntag and Stefano Cappelletti, who look after Germany and Italy respectively.
“A lot of our wire is used by the big spring makers who supply into oil and gas applications,” explained Paul Chatterley, Sales Executive at Alloy Wire International. “We have noticed that these customers have been purchasing in higher than usual volumes since the global pandemic and this shows no sign of slowing down. There are also big opportunities in liquified natural gas and nuclear power both in the UK and overseas.
"Valve World is the perfect place for us to meet existing and new clients in one place and, if previous shows are anything to go by, it’s going to be a very busy three days. Our recent investment in three new dry drawing machines will certainly be a focal point of conversations. When you combine this additional capacity with our 400-tonne stockholding, there are few companies in our sector who can match our speed of turnaround from initial order to despatch.”
Alloy Wire International, which is a manufacturer of round, flat and profile wire is a passionate advocate of the ‘Made in the UK’ brand, exporting its 62-strong range of exotic alloys to 65 countries. Material made and tested in its factories in the West Midlands and Yorkshire is used as far away as Azerbaijan, Australia, Kuwait, Kazakhstan and India.
“Most conversations will be based around spring wire for use in valve springs that must withstand high temperatures and are situated in extremely corrosive environments," added Chatterley.
“Our technical knowledge is second to none in this area and we can work with the customer to walk them through the most suitable alloy for their application. We know from previous shows this is a big selling point.”
