Australian tool grinding machine maker ANCA has started the construction for the new European headquarters of ANCA, with a groundbreaking ceremony held on September 23 in Weinheim Technology Park, Germany.

The new headquarters will require a relocation from Mannheim and includes the creation of eight new jobs. The new building will include an exhibition space to fit ANCA's range of tool grinders, offices and training rooms, a spare parts store and a machine configuration and rebuild area. The facility is designed with enough space to include staff from other ANCA group companies. It will be 3,500 m2 in size and represents an investment of €3.5 million. The completion date is expected to be around September, 2014. Taking part in the groundbreaking ceremony were Pat Boland and Pat McCluskey, the two founders of ANCA; Grant Anderson, ANCA chief executive officer; Jan Langfelder, ANCA GmbH managing director; Gerhard Freiwald, chief technical officer of Freudenberg Real Estate Management GmbH; Dr Torsten Fetzner, the Mayor of Weinheim; and the architect of the project. "The location of Weinheim Technology Park was chosen due to its convenient location for customers and staff. Especially in relation to its 15 minute proximity to the current Mannheim location", said Jan Langfelder. "In addition, the Park has an excellent infrastructure and all required services, such as telecommunications". ANCA Pty Ltd was founded in 1974 in Melbourne, Australia where the company still has its global headquarters. Since 1991, it has had its European headquarters in Germany. ANCA also has a global network of offices and agents. ANCA now forms part of The ANCA Group, in conjunction with ANCA Motion, Tinfish and Techni Waterjet.
