Ajax Machine Tools International Open House event announced

Four machine tool launches, including 5-axis milling and new European sourced lathes to the UK, will set the scene alongside key partnering companies presenting measurement and inspection, control systems, tooling, workholding and software at the Ajax Machine Tools International Open House to be staged at the Lymington, Hants, headquarters between 15 and 17 October 2013. According to managing director William Savin: "Visitors will be able to view our progression in UK machining centre build at Lymington when we demonstrate, for the first time, the AJV 700i 5X, the 5-axis version of the AJV 700 VMC with Heidenhain control. Also being demonstrated for the first time is our new range of European-built CNC lathes, which are available from under £15,000 with Siemens control. We will also launch a range of high specification workshop/training school lathes from under £10,000." The event will involve partnering supporting technologies and product accessories being demonstrated from Delcam, Heidenhain, Mapal, Renishaw, Trucut Tools, UCAM and WDS Component Parts. Building on the success of its Heidenhain-controlled AJV 700 VMC, which has more than 50% UK build content, Ajax application engineers will demonstrate on-site laser calibration techniques using Renishaw's XL-80 laser interformometer. This demonstration will confirm linear accuracy and repeatability on each axis, as will be performed at each customer facility as part of each machine's installation package.
