Wheelabrator Group is celebrating the winning of a £250,000 order in South Korea.

Industrial machinery manufacturer LS Cable will use a custom designed bogey type machine to blast ship engine block castings at its new site, near Seoul. Currently being built at Wheelabrator Group's facility in Ossett, near Wakefield, the machine includes a table measuring six metres in diameter mounted on bogey wheels, which can take a load of up to 60 tonnes. LS Cable will use it to remove surface contaminants from castings, prior to delivery to customers in South Korea's buoyant shipbuilding industry. The new machine is due to be installed at LS Cable at the end of August, under the supervision of Wheelabrator Group who will also provide training onsite. "This is great news for a UK-based manufacturer and a real vote of confidence in the quality of our products. The Far East is a vital growth market for us and we're delighted to be strengthening our presence in the region," said John Halloran, export sales manager at Wheelabrator Group. Wheelabrator Group has offices throughout Asia, the main locations being Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.
