For instance, the company says it has recently sold a Spanish-built Zayer machining centre with a moving column and 10 m X-axis to a stainless steel sheet and plate fabricator in the north of England, while another machine is due to be delivered later this year to a Midlands-based automotive manufacturer.
A Zayer Arion bridge-type, moving table model – which is new to the UK – could be seen at the recent MACH exhibition in Birmingham. A particular benefit of the unit, despite its installed weight of up to 50 tonnes, is ease of installation as foundations are not required. The machine is able to accommodate workpieces weighing up to 10 tonnes within a working envelope defined by an X-axis of 3,000 or 4,000 mm, a Y-axis of 2,600 mm (optionally 3,100 mm) and a Z-axis of 1,100 mm.
