The company can offer facilities for turning and drilling operations to close tolerances in medium/high volumes in a variety of materials, including mild, carbon and stainless steels; other materials. e.g non ferrous or non metallic would be considered. Operations performed include turning, grooving, cross hole drilling, pointing, under-cutting and linishing. The modern machine shop is supported by an in-house tool room, planned maintenance programmes, well equipped quality centre and statistical process control facilities, and 100% piece inspection, when required. 3D work closely with customers to ensure that they in turn meet end user requirements and are prepared to assist in product development. 3D Machine Shop Engineering is a private family owned company, formed in late 2006 from a management buy-out of PCS (Midlands). an established machining company that specialised in subcontract machining of cold headed or machined parts, secondary operations. The new company is run by three directors, who between them have over 90 years experience in general machine shop, production and quality engineering disciplines. They have hands-on experience of all aspects of engineering varying from the planning and costing of operations, machine setting through to customer liaison, sales and marketing. Prior to setting up the company the directors had several years experience in companies who supplied high volume quality products to the aerospace, automotive, white goods and building sectors. Senior positions have been held with blue chip companies, e.g. GKN and Land Rover. 3D has achieved accreditation by Lloyds Register of Quality Assurance to ISO 9001:2000.
