Doosan Puma TW2600 twin-spindle, front-loaded CNC lathe from Mills CNC

The Puma TW 2600 series enables the simultaneous machining of two of the same, similar or different parts, with the gantry-loaded version (TW 2600-GL) providing high speed, reliable part load/unload capability.

Available from Mills CNC, the TW 2600 and TW 2600-GL machines are equipped with a 10-in chuck and are fitted with a 404 Nm torque, 18.5kW/3,500 rpm spindle. For the TW 2600, there’s a maximum turning diameter of 360 mm and maximum tuning length of 170 mm, while the TW 2600-GL boasts figures of 200 mm and 165 mm, respectively. Two 10-position servo-driven turrets feature, one serving each turret, and rapid traverse rates are 24 m/min in X and Y axes.

For the TW 2600-GL, a 3-axis, servo-driven gantry minimises work loading and unloading times, and can be configured to suit customers’ requirements.

TW-series machines are also supplied with the Doosan Fanuc i control system and Doosan’s Easy Operation Package (EOP) for fast and easy set-up and programming.

Says Tony Dale, Mills CNC’s technical director: “The TW-series is a sophisticated and specialist machine tool range that provides manufacturers with an autonomous and flexible manufacturing cell solution.

“Manufacturers looking to seriously ramp up production and/or are machining medium-to-high volume parts will be impressed with what the TW 2600-GL can offer.”
