Schunk to show automation expertise at DMG Mori event

On 23-25 October, DMG Mori will be hosting an open house at its Coventry facility and Schunk will be one of the companies demonstrating automation technology at the event.

For small, confined spaces that can be an issue when using pallets and tools for automatic handling with a robot, Schunk will discuss the slim NSR-A quick-change module with optimised interfering contour. This system allows loading close to the assembly or machine table. For supplying the modules, handling and assembly tools, the module can be additionally equipped with Schunk standard media transfer for pneumatics, electric or fluids.

At a dead weight of 1.6 kg (size 160), the NSR-A has a locking force of 14,000 N and is therefore a rigid system suitable for handling pallets up to 350 kg (measuring 400 x 400 mm), and for handling tools.

Further supporting the automation theme will be the Schunk GSW-B-AGE compensation unit. The GSW-B-AGE has been developed to prevent the build-up of spindle force when the machine tool is self-loading, compensating for tolerances and inaccuracies in all six degrees of freedom. This concept simplifies automated joining processes where the workpieces are to be fixed over bolts or pins. Moreover, workpieces are pressed with a compensation unit against the fixed jaw of a clamping force block, until the clamping process is finished.

Schunk will also demonstrate its KONTEC KSC-F single-acting vice and KSC 6-jaw gripper vice.
