Group Rhodes, a specialist in bespoke composite and metal-forming machinery, will be showcasing its expertise in these technologies at the Advanced Engineering Show (NEC, Birmingham 31 October to 1 November, Stand M101). The company is an expert in the field of superplastic forming (SPF) and diffusion bonding (DB), having designed, manufactured and installed titanium and aluminium forming cells for aerospace and automotive manufacturers worldwide.

Composite machinery manufactured by Group Rhodes is used to produce structural components for production road cars, as well as flight critical parts for a variety of aircraft. The company also offers a range of cold forming technologies for specialist metal-forming applications across a number of sectors.

Recent projects completed by Group Rhodes include manufacturing two SPF/DB presses for a North American aircraft manufacturer (rated at 850 and 1,800 tons respectively), and a 1,000 ton multi-axis composite moulding press for the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC). The press for the AMRC is being used as part of a state-of-the-art facility to help a range of UK companies stay at the leading edge of composite development.
