Expanding firm invests and plans further growth

Claro Precision Engineering has just opened a new production unit at its site in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, in time to take delivery of a new Hardinge Bridgeport 1500XP3HP CNC machining centre.

This latest £300,000 machine tool investment follows a £250,000 investment made last year. The latest machine has 4th axis and probing capability, and it will both increase the maximum envelope size at 50-employee Claro to 1500 by 660 by 610 mm and increase the total machining capacity available overall. "Investing in this type of new equipment and production unit means we can accommodate the needs of both existing and new customers, which is vital for sustained business growth," said managing director Martin Doxey. "We will continue to make investments to meet the needs of our customers, and already have plans underway for future investment. In parallel with investment in machine capacity, we are extending the scope of services we offer to include more vendor managed inventory and kan ban services for low to medium volume OEMs."
