Among them will be an XJet machine, which employs NanoParticle Jetting (NPJ) technology capable of 3D printing geometrically complex ceramic and metal components. It will be the first time the machine has been on display in the UK, after Carfulan Group recently became the first appointed worldwide partner of Israel-based XJet.
Across OGP UK, SYS Systems, Zoller UK, ViciVision UK and XJ3D, the Carfulan Group’s business model allows it to offer solutions for multi-sensor metrology, turned-part measurement, additive manufacturing, and tool pre-setting and inspection.
Carfulan Group managing director Chris Fulton says: “Our passion is supplying solutions for every stage of the production process, whether that be 3D printing for design and prototyping, tool inspection and pre-setting prior to machining or advanced metrology for quality control. In many cases, customers use several of our technologies to ensure they are turning out the best products in the most efficient way because, as we all know, time is money.
“Having just brought XJ3D into the group portfolio, we thought it was the ideal time to welcome engineering professionals from across the UK to see for themselves the very latest technology on the market,” he adds.
XJet’s patented NPJ technology enables users to produce intricate metal or ceramic parts with the same ease and versatility afforded by inkjet printing. This feat is achieved via a liquid dispersion technique, where liquid suspensions containing solid nanoparticles of selected build and support materials are jetted on to a build tray to create dense and detailed models.
By eliminating the hazardous and hard-to-handle powders that are prevalent in other technologies, NPJ is introducing a growing number of metal and ceramic materials to meet the requirements of a multitude of precision applications.
The Carfulan Group’s Manufacturing Performance Network takes place on 4-6 December at its Innovation Centre in Foston, near Derby.
