Additive manufacturing specialist appointed at Matsuura Machinery

Matsuura Machinery Ltd has appointed Joseph Bellis to the role of additive manufacturing sales and technical specialist.

Bellis joined Matsuura two years ago as an application engineer based primarily at the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry, for Matsuura’s LUMEX hybrid metal additive machine and more recently for the HP Multi-Jet Fusion machine.

Prior to that, he worked in the manufacturing industry as a CNC programmer/machinist and mechanical design engineer for the aerospace, defence, marine, oil, gas, automotive and medical industries.

He says: “It’s a hugely exciting time to be in additive manufacturing, as an industry we have barely touched the potential of what can be achieved. Our range of additive 3D printing machines challenge the conventional methods of manufacturing, by printing plastics or growing and milling products in a variety of metals. The technical ‘hands-on’ experience I have gathered over the years, will be invaluable in this role, advising customers on the machines capabilities and what can be achieved.”
