Aberlink Ltd, the largest UK-owned manufacturer of CMMs, has been selected as the preferred metrology supplier to support the forthcoming 54th National Skills Competition (2019) in Busan, South Korea.

Taking place for eight days in October (4-11) across six stadiums (including Busan BEXCO) – and hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labour, Busan Metropolitan City, and the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education – the National Skills Competition contributes to the advancement of industrial development, and acts as a platform to allow individuals to promote and raise their skillset and profile.

Covering seven distinct industries and 50 occupations such as poly-mechanics, mechanical design, prototype modelling, industrial robotics, CAD and CNC milling, the overall winner of the competition is awarded a generous cash prize. More importantly, the winner is given the opportunity to participate in the annual WorldSkills Olympics in 2020, which aims to recognise skilled people and highlight how important skills are in achieving economic growth on a global stage.

Aberlink, through its South Korean distributor, KM Trading, will supply three Axiom Too CNC CMMs, complete with automated probe heads and Aberlink 3D measurement software, so that participants can perform precision measurements on products they produce during the competition.

KM Trading’s team of skilled metrology professionals and engineers will be on hand during the event to assist in the control and management of the Aberlink CMMs, ensuring participants receive quick, accurate measurement results that hopefully put them on the path to victory.
