WNT MNG Zero Point baseplates save 480 hours a year

According to WNT, typical machine changeover from one set-up to another can be achieved in under three minutes when using the company’s MNG Zero Point baseplates. That would equate to a saving of 10 hours per week, when compared to a conventional workholding set-up time, or 480 hours per year.

MNG Zero Point baseplates come with one, two, three, four, six, and 10 location points. The plates are only 30 mm deep, so have very little impact on the axis travel of the machine. To these baseplates can be added single or multiple vices, as well as tombstone-style fixtures.

Being able to have multiple vices or fixtures attached to the MNG Zero Point system offers the ability to run for extended periods, unmanned. Furthermore, when the workpieces have been machined, replenishing the vices is said to be quick and easy. The system guarantees position repeatability down to 0.01 mm.
