Vollmer promises sharp answers for carbide-tipped bandsaws and circular saws

A trio of Vollmer sharpening machines will be launched at GrindTec 2012 in March.

The Vollmer CB 200, described as a 'little brother' to its CB 400, can be used to sharpen the tooth faces and tooth tops of carbide-tipped bandsaw blades used for the processing of aluminium, plastic, steel or cast iron. Vollmer's fully automatic CM 300 and CMF 300 machines are for sharpening carbide-tipped circular saw blades up to 1,440 mm diameter. The CM 300 has nine CNC-controlled axes and can machine cutting edges at tooth faces and tops in one set-up. The CMF 300 can do the same for tooth sides. The machines, with their respective handling systems and loading pallets, can be used in automatic round the clock operations. Vollmer Group subsidiary Loroch will be introducing its K850 HSS saw sharpener at GrindTec. This is a fully automatic CBN abrasive grinding machine that can use its four CNC-controlled axes to sharpen, re-tooth and automatically chamfer HSS circular metal saws.
