Upgrade for DEA Delta Slant gantry coordinate measuring machines

The performance of the DEA Delta Slant gantry coordinate measuring machines has been improved by the Hexagon Metrology team.

The Z-axis sleeve is now manufactured out of silicon carbide, a material that combines very high stiffness with low mass and a very low coefficient of thermal expansion. All models in the Delta Slant range will now have a structural multi-sensor temperature compensation system as standard. The Delta Slant configuration for workshop duties (SF Kit, Shop Floor) will sldo be provided with thermally insulated covers and forced-air circulation. The development of the Delta Slant series improves machine dynamics and measuring accuracy. An example: the MPEE value, the figure that indicates the volumetric length deviation, for the new Delta Slant Performance 25.yy.15 is 4.2 + 3.8 L/1000 microns. Delta Slant coordinate measuring machines now support all analogue, highly accurate Leitz scanning sensors, among them the latest LSP-X1 sensor. In combination with the TESASTAR-m indexing measurement head, the LSP-X1 provides a measuring system with high flexibility and accuracy, at a reasonable price. The large measuring range of these coordinate measuring machines means that they are perfect for the quality control of mass-produced components in automotive, aerospace, heavy goods transport, wind energy infrastructure and satellite communications systems. The DEA Delta Slant coordinate measuring machines, with the various Leitz scanning sensors, are available from Hexagon Metrology.
