Roemheld unveils electro-mechanical wedge clamps

For press die clamping without oil, Roemheld has launched an electro-mechanical variant of its hydraulic wedge clamps. These offer a retention force of 120 kN.

Just like hydraulically operated components, the electro-mechanical wedge clamps are double-acting and consist of a block cylinder with a piston guided in the housing that is optionally equipped with an inclined or straight edge. The clamps extend and clamp the die in a self-locking and safe way in the desired position, even in the event of a potential power failure, says Roemheld. Inductive monitoring also enables the position of the clamping bolt to be controlled.
