Okuma front-loaded, side-by-side twin-spindle 2SP-2500H CNC lathe is 20% faster than predecessor

Okuma has added the front-loaded, side-by-side twin-spindle 2SP-2500H CNC lathe to its line of a smart machines, targeting greater reliability in mass production, especially for automotive parts. It is 20% faster than previous models.

Available in the UK from NCMT, the compact automation-ready 250 mm maximum turning diameter machine provides excellent floor space utilisation - the smallest-in-class machine width of 2,200 mm - and integrates two lathes into one unit, served by a standard loader for continuous front and back work. The loader is able to enter the machine envelope, regardless of the turret’s position, and as turret retraction is not necessary, workpiece transport and changeover times are greatly reduced.

Spindle speed is 5,000 rpm and milling spindle speed is 6,000 rpm, the latter also boasting a doubled max motor output of 7.1 kW, making the machine’s milling capabilities on par with that of a small machining centre.

Okuma's Intelligent Technology application ‘Thermo-Friendly Concept’ minimises thermal deformation and enables supreme accuracy. Okuma’s ‘Tool Life Forecaster’ predicts the remaining time before an exchange is required and prevents cutting edge breakage, thus reducing costs.
