NTK Saturn Duo turning line
Face turning and grooving operations can now be conducted with greater precision and productivity using the new Saturn Duo turning line from NTK, it is claimed.
The flexible Saturn Duo line is available with gang type, front gang type and sleeve holder options to suit all types of turning centre.
The line has double-sided inserts with two edges on each side and an optimised overhang and toolholder shape to enhance performance and surface finishes. The Saturn Duo is offered with an FGV type for face grooving while the newly developed FBV is for face turning.
The former is suitable for machining at a minimum diameter of 6 mm with groove widths available in 1, 1.5 and 2 mm to offer an effective machining depth of up to 3 mm.
They are manufactured from NTK's TM4 grade with an optimal insert thickness of 2.38 mm and corner radii of 0.05 mm.
