Linear drives boost Ewamatic tool grinder from Walter Ewag
With direct linear drives on all main axes, Walter Ewag's 6-axis Ewamatic Linear tool grinder boasts traverse speeds of up to 20 m/min in X, Y and Z, as well as enhanced machine dynamics for improved productivity.
This 7.5 kW machine has axis travels of 380 by 245 by 240 mm in X, Y and Z, and features ProGrind and NUMROTOplus grinding software for the programming of rotationally symmetrical tooling with diameters from 0.2 to 200 mm. The machine can also grind indexable inserts.
It has a 6-position grinding wheel spindle station for wheels up to 300 mm diameter – Ewag says wheel change takes just 2 seconds – and an integrated wheel dressing unit. An optional 6-axis Fanuc robot cell equipped with HSK63 loader carousel can accommodate up to 100 tool positions, including different tool sizes, while laser inscription can also be included as an option.
