Leica Geosystems launches family of Absolute laser trackers

Leica Geosystems’ Absolute sets new metrology industry standards for accuracy, durability, portability and ease of use. The highly advanced portable CMM weighs in at just 22 kg and measures 620 mm in height, making it the company’s most compact laser tracker yet. The company also believes it is also the most robust, accurate, low-maintenance and thermally stable laser tracker on the market and brimful with new technology that will pave the way for new metrology products in the future. The Absolute family comprises three systems. The entry level Leica AT901-Basic provides users with a measurement volume of up to 80 m and is targeted at users with basic applications where measurements with just a corner cube are preferred. The Leica AT901-MR, a mid-range laser tracker with 6 DOF (6 degrees of freedom) works in conjunction with Leica Geosystems' T-Probe, T-Scan and T-Mac products providing a measurement volume of up to 18 m. When used with a corner cube, the volume increases to 50 m. The range-topping Leica AT901-LR features similar large measurement volume and T-product compatibility benefits. It will be targeted at companies working in aerospace manufacturing with tooling, part mating and inspection applications. A volume of up to 30 m is possible with the flagship tracker when measuring with T-products. When used with a corner cube, this increases to 80 m.
