Kaiser HDC chuck from NCMT suits tools down to 3 mm

Kaiser Precision Tooling says it has launched the world’s first hydraulic chuck for clamping tools down to 3 mm diameter, without need of a reduction sleeve. The HDC Super Slim is available in the UK from NCMT.

For clamping diameters of 3 mm, the external diameter of the chuck nose is only 14 mm, and at a length of 90 mm the diameter is 25 mm – meaning that interference contours should no longer be a problem.

Thanks to a hydraulic clamping system with dual oil pressure points, the chucks provide clamping that delivers less than 1.5 micron variance, with run-out accuracy of less than 3 micron at four times diameter. Rotation speeds up to 35,000 rpm are possible.

HDC Super Slim chucks are available for machine spindles HSK-E 32/40/63 and BBT 30/40/50, offering clamping diameters from 3 to 12 mm.
