Since being appointed the UK distributor for the Micro 100 range of micro turning tools earlier this year, Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) says that the latest addition to the series is a miniature line of solid carbide boring tools.
Targeted at sliding head lathe users, the boring tools are available as an uncoated or AlTiN coated product. The tools offer dimensions that are suitable for minimum hole diameters of 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.9 and 1 mm.
An extremely sharp cutting edge is complemented by a rake angle that evacuates swarf rapidly from the bore to prevent re-cutting. Depending upon the tool diameter selected, the Micro 100 line is suitable for machining hole depths from 1.25 to 5 mm. The tools offer an overall length of 38 mm and a shank diameter of 3 mm across the range.
