Top Cut 4 is targeted at machine shops requiring one drill that can perform across a variety of applications and different workpiece materials. Its breadth of application capabilities includes through- and cross-hole, inclined entry and exit, 45° corner, half-cylindrical, concave and chain drilling. As a result, Widia Top Cut 4 can reduce tooling inventory.
With novel centring capabilities and four-edge inserts for both pocket seats, Top Cut 4 is capable of cutting at up to 5xD. This high material removal rate is credit to the combined cutting edge profile that has both periphery and centre inserts which stabilise the drill and balance cutting forces.
