Guarantee of uniform water pressure for KMT waterjet machines

When waterjet cutting, ensuring that the water supply is at a constant pressure to the ultra-high pressure pumps is crucial. Boosterline I provides an innovative solution, feeding water constantly at a uniform pressure and guaranteeing ideal conditions for the operation of all KMT Streamline high pressure intensifiers. Using Boosterline I overcomes the problem of an inadequate public water supply problem and prolongs the service life of wear parts in the intensifier. Maintenance intervals are prolonged and the downtime of the cutting unit is reduced, as the pump is always operated at ideal conditions. Where pressure fluctuations occur in the public water mains, Boosterline I guarantees a uniform volume flow. It is easy to operate and is automatically switched on and off, depending whether the intensifier is activated or not. A compact non-transparent high-quality plastic tank, which prevents algae growth, has a capacity of 1000 litres to ensure that there is always sufficient water available for all cutting applications. If the quality of the water from the mains network does not meet the required standard, Boosterline l can be complemented with an upstream treatment unit to ensure the supply of water at the required quality and pressure. Two sensors monitor and optimise the fill level of Boosterline I. When the maximum fill level in the tank is reached, a solenoid valve closes the water inlet to the tank. When the water level reaches the minimum level, the control system switches off the system and this prevents damage through dry running. With a pump capacity of 7m3/h, the Boosterline I pump can be used to supply more than one high pressure pump, if necessary. The pressure-limiting valve can be adjusted continuously to a maximum pressure of 6 bar and is factory-set to a rated pressure value of 3.5 bar. As soon as the pressure exceeds 3.5 bar (the required inlet pressure or Streamline intensifiers), the pressure-limiting valve is opened and the excess water is returned to the tank.
