Fast Schunk EGP gripper designed for small parts

The Schunk EGP 25-speed mechatronic gripper for small components is claimed to be the smallest electric gripper with integrated electronics on the market. Moreover, Schunk also says it has the fastest stroke-to-closing-time ratio. With a maximum stroke of 3 mm, it takes just 0.03 seconds for its fingers to close.

This tiny, power dense gripper weighs only 100 g and has a gripping force of 7 N. It is designed for the rapid handling of workpieces weighing up to 35 g in friction-fit clamping. Provided with brushless and therefore wear- and maintenance-free servomotors as well as a junction roller guide, the EGP guarantees a high level of efficiency for pick and place applications. Based on the platform of the established pneumatic MPG-plus gripper, in many cases users can transfer the sensor systems used in MPG-plus to the Schunk EGP and convert existing systems from pneumatic to electrical operation.
