Dugard Eagle 450-XP high speed drill/tap/milling centre

Dugard Eagle 450-XP high speed drill/tap/milling centre

The is available with options of 30 or 40 taper and up to 15,000 rpm spindles and rapid travels of 36 m/min. Carried on a heavily ribbed Mehanite casting this compact machine has a footprint of just 2.4 m by 1.5 m making it economical on floor area requirements yet providing a large machining capacity with axis travels of 450 mm by 350 mm by 380 mm in x, y and z, respectively. The Eagle 450-XP can be specified with a high speed 15,000 rpm unit or alternatively 8,000, 10,000 and 12,000 rpm packages and with the choice to select BT or CT 40 tapers for heavier duty milling operations or BT 30 for higher speed drilling and tapping. There is also a choice of control systems and full digital drive packages from Fanuc or Siemens. When Fanuc is specified, the Oi control with a Fanuc 5.5 kW AC spindle motor is fitted and for Siemens, the 802D, with 10.4 inch colour TFT screen and graphic display and Siemens 8.5 kW AC motor drive. Both motors are direct mounted to reduce noise and vibration. Rigid tapping is standard. The Eagle 450-XP has a table 700 mm by 320 mm able to accept loads of 150 Kg. For both the BT/CT40 taper spindle with a maximum tool diameter of 100 mm and 5 kg weight and the BT30, which can accept a 76 mm tool diameter up to 3 kg weight, the carousel style magazine and patented auto-changer has 12 positions. As standard, the machine incorporates powerful chip flushing arrangements and a screw-type conveyor to pull swarf to the rear of the machine. Other options available include a fourth-axis package, automatic tool length measurement and spindle probing.
