Datron ‘platform of the future’ M10 Pro milling centre combines speed and precision

Datron's 'platform of the future' M10 Pro milling centre boasts traverse times of up to 43 m/min and 30 m/min cutting. Based on the company's proven compact design template with a solid granite bed, the machine's 1,040 by 900 mm machining table and 1,020 by 830 mm X/Y-axes movements sit within a 1,990 by 2080 mm footprint.

The Datron M10 Pro's HSC Pro control system delivers up to 40,000 rpm on the machine's 3 kW spindle, with spindle power optimisation and HSK tool holding technology offering concentricity levels better than 2 microns. The machine is fitted with Heidenhain linear glass scales with 0.5 micron resolution giving positioning accuracy of 5 microns repeating to 2.5 micron. User-friendly Windows-based controls facilitate fast, responsive, intuitive control with menu-driven programming from the keyboard and mouse-operated integrated workstation. An ergonomically designed hand-held control unit is also provided. An optional and easily retrofitted 135 mm face plate Datron DST rotary table converts the M10 Pro to simultaneous 5-axis cutting capability. Cutting speed, material removal dynamics and accuracy levels are unchanged. Additional adapter plates, allowing new jobs to be set-up while the machine is running, can further boost productivity.
