Concept Laser’s modular additive manufacturing machine for tomorrow’s factory

Concept Laser, which is represented in the UK by ES Technology, has introduced its modular machine architecture that boasts numerous innovations; it can be interlinked, according to requirement.

Based on Concept Laser’s ‘AM Factory of Tomorrow’ vision, the solution presents stand-alone process stations, each of which offers a build envelope of 400 mm³ and one to four laser systems (400 to 1,000 W). Also integrated is a 3D scanning system that enables real-time adjustment of the laser spot with diameters of from 50 to 500 micron.

A further feature is a 2-axis coating system. This allows the coater to return in parallel with exposure, a dual function that Concept Laser says results in a considerable time saving during the coating process, without demonstrating the spatter problems that usually arise with systems that coat in both directions.
