Cast iron and steel alloy coolant offers benefits

For those machining dirty cast iron and steel alloys in hard water areas the TRIM SC511 metalworking fluid concentrate from Master Chemical Europe is of significant benefit. It is a tight emulsion with excellent wetting and cooling characteristics keeping machines free from graphite build-up. Fast wetting also gets the fluid to the point of cut swiftly and ensures the workpiece and chips are fully coated for superior corrosion protection. The TRIM SC511 is also a good choice for grinding for which it exhibits characteristics similar to those of a premium heavy duty synthetic. Sufficient lubrication also makes it suitable for most ‘down-the-hole’ operations on machining centres. TRIM SC511 will run effectively for long periods without the need for costly additives. Where heat removal is a key issue it can run at lower concentrations for higher speed machining of relatively hard materials. For machining soft materials and in applications where friction reduction and control of built-up edge are critical higher concentrations are recommended. True to the nature of TRIM products, this fluid contains no DEA, chlorine, nitrites or phenolic compounds. It provides excellent sump life and is easily recycled or disposed of without special handling or equipment.
